Lancaster Theological Seminary

So I’m in Philadelphia for the moment, working at the Sister Peter Claver House of the Philadelphia Catholic Worker.  It’s been a good experience and I hope to blog a bit more about Catholic Worker in the future.

I visited Lancaster Theological Seminary last Monday and was mostly pleased by what I saw.  The place seems seeped in Protestant history and the Mercersburg movement for which I have a strong affinity.  I had an interesting conversation with the Systematic Theology Professor, Lee Barrett about the history of the institution, on Mercersburg, and other matters.  The academics of the institution seem okay and the course layout has been well thought through.

It seems that I will be enrolling there in January.  There are only two gripes that I have with the place, so far: one, the library seems a bit sub-par in terms of what books are available; and two, the rooms on campus are unfurnished, which means that I will have to find a room off-campus.

If I go there, I’m sure there will be more blogging about Lancaster in the future.
